Why sailing, why Mexico?

First, sailing is something that I like to do; nothing like the wind to improve my mood, I like the motion of the boat, steering to a breeze.

Mexico has great people, great weather, and usually great sailing. I decided a few years ago, after spending some time sailing in Mexico's Sea of Cortez, that  Iwould love to spend more time there. Unfortunately, it's a long drive from Idaho, especially while towing a biggish sailboat. So, I saved up some pennies and put together a purpose-built little cruising boat to take me sailing for a week or so, a few times a year.
Now, I can fly to sunny Loreto on the Baja peninsula, get on my boat and take off sailing. When my little vacation is over (usually a week or 8 days), I put the boat away into storage and catch a flight back home.
Cost is minimal at $70 per month for storage of the boat, truck and Mexican vehicle insurance.

So the boat is Western Flyer and this blog is about her adventures while sailing from island to island and visiting the great people and places of Mexico.
